Post-Graduate Diploma (PG Diploma) in Anaesthesia is a 2-Year postgraduate diploma course. The course is a discipline of medical science that deals with the usage and effects of various kinds of anaesthetics in the human body. The course spans over 4 semesters and enables one to study and choose the most appropriate type of anaesthetics and its dosage in accordance with the condition of the patient.
The minimum eligibility to apply for PGD in Anaesthesia is an MBBS. Candidates must have obtained the degree from any college/university-recognized by the Medical Council of India along with a compulsory one-year internship.
Admission to the course in various colleges and universities is mainly based on the score in the entrance exam, usually NEET PG, a national-level entrance exam for the course. Some colleges conduct their own entrance exams as an alternative to national level exams.
